I get
so many questions from clients and colleagues about technology products, I
decided to start this area of the Web site to start listing some items, with
linked images, so it would be easy to find things that work. I'll probably
add some items I don't like, but if you have feedback on your experiences
with any of these items, or have suggestions for things you like, please
e-mail me so I can include them.

| VISIONEER PAPERPORT
AND STROBE SCANNER My
personal favorite for the small to mid-sized office. This device makes it easy to
slip a document into the slot of the tube-like scanner, which typically sits
between your keyboard and monitor. When you slip the paper in, the software
appears on your screen automatically, allowing you to "drop" a scanned image
of the document into a subdirectory on your hard drive, print it, perform an
OCR conversion on it, e-mail it, etc., all by "pulling" the image to a
corresponding icon on the toolbar. Small enough to carry in a briefcase.
Approximately $150-250, depending on model. |

| BELKIN MINIWIRELESS
OPTICAL MOUSE Very nice and very small
optical mouse. Great to throw into a briefcase so you don't have to struggle
with a touchpad. Available at BestBuy for around $50.00. |
 |
| TARGUS PORTABLE
LAPDESK™ Great foldable lap desk.
Provides ventilation for those big power hungry 17" screen machines. Has
friction pad so mouse can roll. Fits in a briefcase or camera bag so you can
pull it out and work in your car, stadium, on the boat, etc. About $30.00. |

| LOGITECH QUICKCAM®
ORBIT™ This is a neat but not
inexpensive camera for use as a Web cam or just for video confernces. The
main feature which attracted me was the face tracking feature which allows
it to pan and zoom, so your face stays in the frame while you move around.
Has a built in microphone and 1.3 megapixel capture at 640 X 480. There are
much cheaper and more powerful Web cams out there, but this combination of
features makes this one a pretty neat choice. Installed easily. About
$130.00 |

| FLEXIS KEYBOARD
Mine is gray and white (FX200-USB) but this is a
picture of a very versatile and very small keyboard you can stick in your
pocket. Handy to extend usefulness of a laptop, etc. They have versions for
connection to PDAs. About $40.00 |
